Since more than a century, Ahmedabad has been one of the predominant centres of the cotton textile industry known as Manchester of India. In it, a much attained mercantile community of India mostly hailing from Rajasthan and Haryana states, started Rajasthan Seva Samiti in the year 1961. Within a year a school in the service of the society was inaugurated by late Shri Dr. Jivraj Mehta, the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Since its inception, the Board members of the Samiti have been comtemplating ways and means of reaching and imparting the best education to the people of the time.
In this effort, the Samiti started Primary, Secondary & Higher Secondary School in Hindi Medium. As per the need of the time, it was felt that together with Hindi Medium, English Medium should also be catered to. The existing English Medium was limited to commerce section only. Thinking of the time, the Samiti started the first session of English Medium, Science Stream (Self- Financed) Higher Secondary Section with a small group of 51 students in the year 2000. Today, making its impact on the society, the total number of students has gone up to more than 522 students as on 2008 and 448 passed out in the 1st attempt. At present Samiti caters to educational needs of the society through its five branches with total strength of 3342 students.
